The USS Tacoma (CL-20) broke apart on Blanquilla Reef near Veracruz, Mexico in 1924. This heavily faded flat hat features custom embroidery on the crown and is missing the stiffener. The extra stitching on the tally could indicate that there are multiple tallies from the owners previous shipboard assignments (source: eBay image).
